CLINICAL NEUROPSYCHOLOGY

Clinical Neuropsychology is the discipline that deals with the assessment of the profile of cognitive functioning and the rehabilitation of deficits in cognitive functions.
The assessment of cognitive functioning aims to identify possible deficits in the different cognitive domains and to contribute to the diagnosis of cognitive impairment.
Neuropsychological rehabilitation has the goals of recovering cognitive abilities lost as a result following brain injury and to compensate with alternative strategies those that cannot be regained, to enhance and maintain residual abilities and to slow cognitive decline.
The neuropsychological outpatient clinic is aimed at people diagnosed with pathology affecting the Central Nervous System, of neurodegenerative (Dementia, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis…), vascular (stroke) or traumatic (Head Trauma, brain surgery outcomes…) nature, to people undergoing diagnostic investigations for suspected cognitive impairment or neuropsychological deficit, to family members of people with a neuropsychological diagnosis.
